Yesterday, we had the honour of welcoming Mr. Michał Rusinek, a literary scholar, writer, translator and professor at Jagiellonian University, as well as the long-time secretary to Wisława Szymborska, the Nobel Prize-winning poet.

The meeting focused on Wisława Szymborska, her work, personality and everyday life. Mr. Rusinek shared memories of working with the poet, anecdotes from the Nobel Prize award ceremony, and stories that offered a closer look at her sense of humour and particular sensitivity to language.

The event was initiated and organised by Pola, a student in the IB Diploma Programme (DP), who invited Mr. Rusinek and interviewed him during the meeting.
