June 25, 2025
To mark the 1000th anniversary of the coronation of Bolesław I the Brave, students at our high school organized a remarkable historical reenactment. We traveled back to the year 1025 to experience one of the most important events in Polish history: the coronation of Poland’s first king.
The celebration featured medieval costumes, noblemen and ladies, a royal crown, the sound of fanfares, and plenty of excitement. With great enthusiasm, students took on the roles of historical figures and proudly recreated the moment that symbolically marked the beginning of the Kingdom of Poland.
This event was not only a fascinating way to learn history but also a valuable opportunity to foster creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of our cultural heritage.
Did you know?
The coronation of Bolesław I the Brave was not performed by the emperor or the pope. It was initiated by the ruler himself, likely with the quiet support of the pope. This act reflected the growing independence of Poland on the European stage as early as the 11th century.
