DP2 students have just started their IB Diploma exams. Yesterday they celebrated their graduation ceremony. It was a splendid celebration with moments of emotion and laughter. To get into the atmosphere of this ceremony, read please below an excerpt from the speech of Mrs. Jill Craig, the IB DP Coordinator:

I want to end by sharing an extract from a poem with you. (…) The extract is from ‘Oh the Places you’ll go’ by Dr. Seuss.

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

I think this is particularly poignant at the moment – The world is opening up again at the perfect time for you. Of course, there is the small matter of the final exams that start tomorrow, before you can actually get on your way… but once they are over, you will be able to tackle that mountain and go to all those great places!

I wish you all the best in your exams and of course all the best in the next chapter of your lives, whatever you choose to do and whatever direction you take.
