An exceptional performance commemorating the anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland took place at our high school. The project was an excellent example of the interdisciplinary approach at the heart of IB programmes, where different areas of knowledge come together to help students better understand the complexity of the world.
By combining literary texts with historical context, students were able not only to explore key facts, but also to engage with the emotions, experiences, and dilemmas of people living through that period. This IB-inspired approach fosters critical thinking, empathy, and reflection on the past and its impact on the present.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms Iga, Polish language teacher, and Mr Michał, history teacher, for creating the space for such meaningful interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as to all the students involved for their commitment, sensitivity, and the effort they put into preparing and delivering the performance.
It was a powerful and meaningful educational experience that clearly shows how IB values are put into practice.
